Guan Miao Elementary School

Guan Miao Elementary School, established for 126 years, is the earliest school along the Nan Guan Line. The school boasts two rain trees with a history of over a hundred years, serving as collective memories for alumni. Despite multiple renovations to the school buildings, only these two old rain trees remain standing tall on the campus, guarding the faculty and students. The school is in the process of completing two new school buildings, with public artworks designed around the rain trees.

Principal Lyu Zhizhong of Guan Miao Elementary School stated that the school was founded 13 years before the Republic of China era. Due to its long history, the school buildings have undergone numerous renovations, even changing the location of the playground. The only constant has been the two rain trees with a history of over a hundred years, which still stand firm today, with even better growth and a more magnificent appearance.

Lyu Zhizhong pointed out that the rain trees are a shared memory among the alumni of Guan Miao Elementary School. Almost every alum has played under these trees, and while they may not see the classrooms they once studied in when they return, seeing the old rain trees will inevitably evoke various memories of their school days.
